The non-vegetarian vampire tricks Bella into going to her old dance studio where he video tapes her last moments. Then he slashes her face and breaks her leg. Carlisle saves Bella when he finds that James had bitten her hand. Bella ends up in the hospital where Edward promises never to leave her. This is one of my favorite books ever and would recommend it to anyone. Along with the sequels. the way Stephanie Myers explains Edward and Bella's love for each other is unbelievable.

In chapter 13 Bella and Edward go to the meadow where Edward shows Bella what he looks like in the sunlight. His skin sparkles like diamonds. Bella and Edward both confess there love for each other and kiss fot the first time. It is crazy to think that two people could fall this mad in love so quick. But i think that to Bella, Edward is something something like a fairytale because he is somewhat magical.Edward shares with bella that he has been a vampire since 1918. Dangerous vampires pass through Forks and smell Bella. They want her. This part of the book is so suspenseful.

Once starting the book it impossible to put down. As they fall in love and spend all their time to togeter they also find problems such as Jacob Black's wolf gang not liking Edward or the Cullen's and being very protective of Bella. Jacob Black tells her about Edward's family and their pack with the wolves to stay off their land. This love story progresses with Bella finding out more and more to Edward's lifestyle and family. Every aspect of this makes him more and more mysterious to the reader.

Twilight one

twilight starts with Bella moving to a new town and not knowing at all whats in store for her. On her first day school she sees the Cullen family and knows something is different about them, because i knew some back round on the book and have read the series i know that the Cullen family are vampires. Though most people do judge the book by its cover and declare it a freak vampire book the plot is actually very exciting and every page is more shocking as she spends more time around Edward and witnesses his crazy mood change from the first couple days to the third week when he is very nice and curious about her and even saves her life.

as the story develops I'm starting to find it more interesting and more like freedom writers. As the students read there poems you can hear how they are becoming more comfortable around each other and more comfprtable expressing their feelings. They are also all realizing that they are more alike then they thought. To hear the stories like Chankara's sister whose boyfriend beat her and Tyrone's pessimistic outlook because his father died and how he doesn't try on anything he does shows how different their lives are from mine because i never experience these situations or feelings.

As the story unfolds i became more aware of the theme's in this story through the students journal entries. These problems are obeseity, alcoholism, dylexia, and abuse. These are problems i am never faced with, therefore when i was reading about them i was shocked.

the bronx masquerade

When starting this book it reminded me a lot of the story freedom writers about teens California who live troubled lives and express there emotions through journal entries. Tyrone Bittings, a student in the Bronx Masquerade wrote a poem instead of an assigned essay. He read it a loud to his class and "open mic Friday" was born. This gives students a chance to read poems they wrote that express how hard their lives are in the bronxs.

the dinner is ending and the lights go out. tom admits that he didnt pay the electric bill. Jim and Laura talk aout high school and how he called her blue roes (which i think is so cute, high school sweethearts) they dance around the room, and kiss. jim announces that he is engaged and is being married in june. amanda thinks tom played a joke on them. this was a stupid way to end the book.

the glass menagerie 5,6

the next scene takes place right before world war two. Amanda is nagging tom about his smoking habits. tom finds a gentleman caller for Laura. his name is jim and makes 85 dollars a month which to me seems ridiculous! tom reminds Amanda that Laura is crippled and lives in a fantasy world. tom gets up and leaves and says he is going to the movies again and Amanda becomes worried again but is excited for the gentleman caller to come. this sounds like my mom because she is alway cleaning the house and getting ready for something. jim comes and laura dresses really pretty and walks down the steps just like cotillion. when she reaches the bottom of the steps she realizes the Jim is her crush from high school. i had a feeling this was going to happen.foreshadowing. Laura becomes ill.

glass menagerie- 3,4,5

amanda is going crazy trying to find laura a gentleman caller. Tom and Amanda get into a huge fight- like most families do- about a book he's readng. He defends himself by saying he pays the rent. Tom leaves which makes Amanda even more angry. Then tom breaks Lauras Glass Menagerie, after spending what felt like eight hours trying to figure out what a glass menagerie was before reading the book i found that it is a group of glass figurines. Tom comes home drunk and talks about a magic show he went to and explaineda whole bunch of neat tricks such as turning water into wine. Amanda still won't talk to Tom until he apologizes. Laura is crying because she thinks tom doesn't want to live with them, which reminds me of something my little sister would do. Amanda talks aboiut how she is worried about tom because his father was a heavu drinker too.

the gass menagerie- scenes one and two

when first starting i thought i would like this book because I've always found the great depression and an interesting time period to read about. tom-the narrator seems like an interesting character. he mentions that his dad hasn't been in the picture since he was little besides a postcard from Mexico. the scene starts with his family sitting at the table talking about his sister Amanda and her gentleman callers which reminded me a lot of my dinnertime conversations. in the second scene Laura is being sneaky around Amanda who knows Laura hasn't been going to her college classes besides the first few. Amanda basically tells Laura that the only way she will have a good life is if she finds a good husband. which to me sounds like a good idea. Laura tells Amanda about her only crush named Jim who was engaged by graduation, and Amanda reasures her that she will find a good husband. this is something all family members would say to each other.

a white man named karl linder comes to there home as they are packing and basically tells them they aren't welcome in the neighborhood (this shocked me beacuse im not used to racism) and he will buy there house for more money then they bought it for. walter and ruth tell him to get out. when mama comes home they talk about his visit and she is shocked and worried. walters friend comes over and says that their business partner willy harris took all their money and left. all the money mama gave him to put in the bank which 3000 dollars of was for berneathas college. everyone is incredibly sad. if this happened to me i would be so depressed.berneaths friend asaiga asks her to marry him and move to africa to be a doctor there. if this choice was mine i would definitely go. walter decides they shouldn't move and invites mr linder over. when he gets there he tells him that they are too proud to sell tehir house and they will move there even though they wont be treated fairly. the story ends with mama taking her plant with her to the new house along with a few presents her family has bought for her. overall this book was not as bad as i thought it would be. it reminded me of two other books i read in english the death of a salesman, and fences which were both about struggling families long ago.

a raisin in the sun act 2 scene 2

berneatha goes on a date but end up kicking the boy george out. mrs johnson visits the family and talks about a black family being bombed out of their house which to me seems crazy but i guess in 1950 it wasn't a huge deal. mrs johnson seems kind of snooty but everyone is still very polite to her. walters boss calls and says he hasn;t came to work for three days. i know if i didnt come to work for three days i would have been fired on the spot. everyone in the house is so confused about why he didnt go to work. mama gives him 6500 to put in the bank. and talks to travis about his future and how great its gonna be. 

act two scene one

 berneatha dances around in african clothes and chants nigerian songs she learned from asagai. walter comes home drunk and makes fun of her. mama announces that she put a down payment on the house-which seemed like the best idea to me. walter is angry and sad, mama feels guilty. the house mama is buying is in a white neighborhood which worries everyone.-things really are different now.

in the beginning of this scene walter gets a call from his friend willy harris to talk about the liquor store, meanwhile the check still hasnt come. ruth finds out she is pregnant. berneatha meets a man in school from africa named asaigia who seems to like her very much. he doesn't understand why she doesnt like him. walter continues to talk to get phone calls from willy about the liquor store.

after picking up this book i realized it wasn't a book i would normally read such a gossip girl or the a list series, though i still had to give it a chance. in the beginning everyone is complaining and no one is happy. then they start to fight about the insurance check that"mama" is getting and how they will use it.  Berneatha is talking about her dreams of being a doctor and wants to use it for school. walter wants to open a liquor store, and mama wants to buy a house. my prediction is that they will use it on something totally different and thats when the story will get interesting.
